Summary
The 501st successfully reported the location of the test base, and a powerful attack swept in. However, the unmanned helicopters managed to take off and evade the bombing, while Captain Jacqueline, a survivor, desperately tried to salvage valuable experimental equipment. The reconnaissance team decided to launch another attack to eliminate the base completely.

[Data trucks can be seen on screen]
Felice (Alloy) While gathering relevant technical data, I kept finding it strange: why did the "Comanche" have so much automated equipment?
Felice (Alloy) Now the truth has come to light: it is a drone in its entirety, it doesn't even have a cockpit
Prapor In my view, its formation-flying capability is superior to that of manned helicopters.
[The uncrwed helicopter can be seen hovering above the base]
Felice (Alloy) That is the purpose of frontline testing; these unmanned weapons are already very close to combat readiness, and the aim is to rapidly complete acceptance trials in a real-world battlefield environment.
Felice (Alloy) We cannot let them succeed.
Erika Why go to such great lengths to develop uncrewed aircraft?
Felice (Alloy) By eliminating the cockpit and control systems, it also saves on life-support systems and NBC (nuclear, biological, and chemical) protection equipment.
Felice (Alloy) With no personnel on board, the weapon's overall ability to withstand high temperatures, oxygen, flames, toxic gases, and nuclear radiation would be significantly enhanced.
Felice (Alloy) Even if the entire world were reduced to scorched earth swirling with radioactive dust, this weapon would still reign supreme.
Sylvia What a ruthless era. Devoid of human indecision or emotion, of compassion or sympathy, there is only efficiency, and the ability to kill without a shred of guilt... How cruel.
Erika How cunning! The thought that there’s no pilot in the enemy aircraft makes shooting it down feel pointless, yet if I don’t, it’ll kill me...
Prapor This is also the advantage and significance of unmanned weaponry, it can strike at the enemy's morale.
Felice (Alloy) It is hardly surprising, then, that this experimental base so easily attracts anti-radiation missiles, a completely unmanned combat platform inevitably requires high-intensity communication with the base.
[The scene changes to the top of a mountain over looking the base and the hovering helicopter]
Hannah Reporting: The EhRRS-1 radio direction-finding station is ready.
Julius Scan the target area to identify primary and secondary signal sources.
Hannah The azimuths(Horizontal degree of rotation) of the primary signal source and two secondary signal sources have been determined.
Julius Upon confirming receipt of the target azimuth data, the vehicle-mounted laser rangefinder measures the distance to the target.
Julius Upon completion of ranging, the data is input into the integrated navigation and ranging system for calculation.
Sylvia Comrade, we’ve made contact with headquarters.
Prapor Comrade Sylvia, prepare a telegram: "'Bastion,' this is 'Alloy.' The patient is settled and ready for surgery. Surgery order number?"
Felice (Alloy) Surgery order number 40973.
Prapor “--Surgery order number 40973.”
Sylvia Transmission completed.
Julius Target processing complete. Referenced to landmark "Wolf" on grid map 6331, primary target coordinates: X21510, Y06720. Unarmored target.
Julius Secondary target number one: X20780, Y06430. Unarmored target. Secondary target number two: X21050, Y06120. Unarmored target.
Prapor Sylvia repeat it.
Sylvia Primary target location: Based on the "Wolf" orienteering landmark on grid map 6331; coordinates X21510, Y06720.
Sylvia Unarmored targets. Secondary target 1: X20780, Y06430. Secondary target 2: X21050, Y06120.
Prapor Acknowledged, Comrade Sylvia; Prepare the encrypted message for transmission.
Sylvia Clear
Felice (Alloy) With that, our mission is complete, though I wonder what kind of weapon the higher-ups will use to destroy the target.
Prapor Standard procedure begins with a salvo of tactical missiles, followed by tactical bombers dropping cluster bombs.
Prapor At this experimental base, large quantities of fuel and ammunition are stockpiled on the ground without overhead cover; cluster munitions would be highly effective at destroying them.
Felice (Alloy) Perhaps a simpler method would be to launch a tactical nuclear weapon; that way, the entire base would be covered.
Prapor Doesn't that mean we're included in the coverage too?
Felice (Alloy) After all, the enemy has already launched a nuclear attack first; under normal circumstances, we ought to retaliate in kind.
Prapor If we had been able to give tit for tat, this war would not have broken out.
Felice (Alloy) Fair enough, let headquarters worry about that.
[Multiple bomber can be seen flying over the base, bombe explosion cover the runway and makes an antena colaps]
Felice (Alloy) Should we continue to play the "good guy", mindful of international optics and the risk of shocking our allie, or should we take a cold, hard look solely at cost-effectiveness? ...Our job is simply to report the facts.
[The scene changes back to the command post with Tatyana and jacqueline]
Tatyana Ahem... ahem, Lieutenant Jacqueline, so here you are!
Jacqueline You're still alive? You're so lucky. What about the others?
Tatyana It’s total chaos, there’s simply no finding the commander! Oh, but the drones didn't suffer any real damage; only one on the ground got blown up.
Jacqueline At this stage...
At that moment, the phone rang in the equipment container
Phone Hello? Who's in command now?
Jacqueline That would be me, Lieutenant Jacqueline.
Phone Lieutenant Jacqueline? Good heavens, this is Brigadier General Hancock! I received reports that your location was bombed, did the critical assets suffere severe damage?
Jacqueline We were indeed bombed by the enemy; the main communications and control centers were damaged, but we still have a backup control module.
Jacqueline The critical assets you are most concerned about remain intact. We are awaiting their landing to re-establish command.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) How did the enemy discover these bases?
Jacqueline An infiltration unit has made its way close to the test site; their numbers are unknown, but they possess heavy firepower.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) Then why weren't they dealt with in a timely manner?
Jacqueline Why? You should ask the National Defense Force and the border guards responsible for the base's security, not to mention those technicians who do nothing but brag all day long.
Jacqueline Our state-of-the-art unmanned combat systems were easily deceived by the enemy's electronic warfare, rendering them completely incapable of protecting our airfields.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) I am now authorizing you to command all the base's forces and use every means necessary to quickly eliminate these infiltrators.
Jacqueline Right now? We don't have much forces right now--Enemy airstrike caught us like a stuffed pig.
Jacqueline I need to immediately unlock the authorization to control the "Comanches"; they are currently in the initialization phase.
Jacqueline I can reconfigure the IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) protocols to circumvent the enemy's electronic deception measures.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) No, that won't do, have these critical assets relocated immediately!
Jacqueline Didn't you give me permission to use any means necessary?
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) That excludes engaging critical assets! Higher-ups have ordered us to suspend testing; an armored formation from the mainland has just arrived nearby, and there is a high risk of our drones accidentally striking them.
Jacqueline It turns out that the higher-ups weren't entirely at ease with this kind of unmanned system either.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) This is no time for malicious speculation! This unit is invaluable and cannot afford to suffer any losses; they still have to contend with the enemy's counterattack.
Jacqueline A counterattack?
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) That's right, a counterattack! Union tanks are swarming out of every dark corner like ants!
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) The National Defense Force units at the front can no longer hold the line; we must urgently mobilize the reserves before the situation completely collapses!
Jacqueline Collapsing in total ruin? Shouldn't it be the enemy that collapses like that?
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) Oh, I really envy you, getting to test secret weapons here without having to worry about the bad news from the front lines.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) Anyway, I have to rush off to an urgent meeting, even though I’ll inevitably get chewed out again.
Phone (Brigadier General Hancock) You must dispatch your most capable personnel to eliminate all the infiltrating enemy forces; these critical assets must not be allowed to suffer any further losses.
[The scene changes back to the top of a mountain over looking the biw destroyed base and the still hovering helicopter]
Julius As the smoke and flames subsided somewhat, it became possible to assess the impact of the strike.
Erika Our long-range firepower battered the enemy, leaving them in shambles! ...Unfortunately, those drones remained hovering in the air; we failed to destroy them.
Hannah The primary signal sources identified earlier have all gone silent... however, a new signal source has been detected; it could be a backup command or communications center.
Prapor In that case, we cannot yet say that the task has been completed.
Prapor What have you eavesdropped on this time?
Felice (Alloy) Heard quite a bit of good news.
Prapor Good news?
Felice (Alloy) For instance, the counterattack by the combined union armed forces is extremely fierce, and the frontline units of the multinational force are being driven back.
Erika That’s fantastic! Sylvia, you’re feeling confident now, aren’t you? I told you we were good, did they mention our division?
Felice (Alloy) However, there is also bad news: a fully equipped and manned Vespuccian armored group is rushing up to provide reinforcements.
Erika In that case, we should conduct another reconnaissance mission and then call in bombers to blast them into scrap metal, that way, we can score another victory.
Felice (Alloy) Oh my, oh my...
Erika No, is that not allowed?
Felice (Alloy) "Doing it all over again" is no easy matter. Just how many missiles and tactical aircraft do you think the High Command has stockpiled?
Erika Huh? Used up already? But the experimental base hasn't been completely destroyed yet, and now an armored unit is showing up...
Prapor Stop teasing Erika, I can see that our Comrade clearly already has a plan.
Felice (Alloy) Given that these unmanned systems refuse to attack the enemy, it is hard to rule out the possibility that they might attack friendly forces.
Felice (Alloy) Even the general commanding the multinational force ordered a halt to the testing as the armored units approached, an indication that these weapons are not yet sufficiently reliable...
Felice (Alloy) A conversation between the local commander and the experimental base mentioned that these drones can be initialized once they land; we could beat them to it and seize control of the drones.
Erika What is initialization?
Sylvia In other words, many settings will revert to zero, such as IFF standards, rules of engagement, navigation protocols...
Erika Oh? So that means we can set these drones to target the enemy while recognizing us as friendly? That’s fantastic!
Erika It makes the enemy turn on each other, and it also, well, "crushes enemy morale," right? That’s what the Comrade Prapor said.
Felice (Alloy) Indeed, this helicopter is fully loaded with anti-tank weaponry, and the Vespuccian armored unit's air-defense fire likely cannot engage it. It is a godsend of an opportunity.
Hannah In that case, the fact that the enemy has a backup control center isn't entirely a bad thing, if we capture it, we can reconfigure those drones.
Erika So what are we waiting for? Let's go!
Felice (Alloy) However, this means we have to face the entire base's defensive force, and they still vastly outnumber our small team.
Julius We have an advantage, too: the enemy has just been bombed, they are shaken and in disarray. Plus, we have this old comrade-in-arms to assist us.
Felice (Alloy) So, Comrade Company Commander, are you determined to secure it?
Julius Of course, that is precisely why we are here.
