Personal History
A member of the 501st Long-Range Reconnaissance Group and an enlisted soldier in the 4th Motorized Infantry Division's Long-Range Reconnaissance Company. She is the least senior member of the team, yet also the one with the most ideas and initiatives. Erika is petite in stature but possesses a strong personality; she constantly chatters away, proposing various "creative ideas." Although these are rarely accepted, she remains undeterred. In a standard motorized infantry unit, her behavior might be seen as overstepping her bounds; however, within a long-range reconnaissance team that prizes autonomy, her actions are viewed as a commendable willingness to take initiative.
Erika once took great pride in achieving top marks across all reconnaissance training disciplines, an accomplishment that earned her a transfer to the Long-Range Reconnaissance Company. Upon joining the new unit, however, she quickly discovered that her comrades possessed exceptional skills and that her own abilities were nothing out of the ordinary. She resolved to work harder and further hone her craft. Yet, events moved too quickly to allow for further professional growth; the unit was soon mobilized for deployment, leaving Erika’s practical skills and theoretical knowledge stuck at a rudimentary level.
Erika shows no fear in the face of the looming war. Driven by fervent patriotism and loyalty to the ideology of Ostheim, she wholeheartedly believes the official state propaganda: that her homeland is the most advanced and prosperous nation on earth, boasting technology and goods that rival the cutting-edge standards of the Entente, and standing as the finest democratic republic in Ostheim's history. Conversely, she views the people of Schmalkalden in the west as wretched souls enslaved by the remnants of militarism, poor wretches destined to become cannon fodder in a war of aggression. She harbors no doubt that ultimate victory, in whatever form it takes, will belong to Ostheim, and she envisions herself becoming a celebrated war hero.
Erika hails from a family that is both distinguished and legendary; her grandfather was a wealthy baron who earned his title through a famous cavalry charge at the Battle of Rossbach. However, following the World War, the Baron, seeking to atone for the militaristic wars of aggression his aristocratic class had once supported and to reject the historical nihilism associated with the Schmalkaldic era, actively dedicated himself to the cause of Phalanstery in Ostheim and donated his entire fortune to the state. Consequently, by the time Erika entered military service, she appeared little different from any other ordinary female soldier.
Unlike her forebears, Erika did not personally experience the calamities that militarism inflicted upon the populace; thus, she lacks their heightened political sensitivity regarding traditional military symbols. In her eyes, the current National People's Army uniform is the finest attire in the world. She takes great care with her appearance every day, meticulously ironing her shirt, polishing her leather shoes to a high shine, and ensuring the fitted waist and shoulder pads of her jacket complement her physique, all to project a taller, more upright silhouette.
