Valena Edmoundovna was one of the earliest members of the Eastern Project preparatory group sent to Nox Planet. On one hand, resources and manpower were extremely scarce; on the other, she was unfamiliar with the Unified Territory. These factors made her work exceptionally challenging. However, she remained undaunted—for her, the search for the "Legacy" held extraordinary significance.
Valena was born in 1976 in Petrograd (now called Ingemarlandia). Her father was a nuclear submarine officer, her mother a secondary school teacher, and her grandfather had fought in the Great Patriotic War(WW2). She excelled academically from a young age, graduating from the experimental high school affiliated with Proletarsk University and then enrolling in the Дальневосточное высшее общевойсковое командное училище (Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School) named after Marshal K. K. Rokossovsky.
In 1995, Valena graduated, received her commission, and was assigned to the 120th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, not far from her hometown. However, the Union soon fell into disarray and civil war. After crossing nearly the entire nation with her comrades, she managed to find refuge in the Primoriye using the connections she had built during her time at the military academy. Fortunately, this area was spared from the flames of war but had become part of the newly formed "Primorsky Republic."
Despite surviving such turmoil, Valena did not settle in the Primoriye for long. The semi-autonomous megacorporation Nefteyugansk Trust, wealthy beyond measure, launched the "Eastern Project" to search for the "Legacy" on Nox Planet and sought assistance from the Primorsky Republic. Nox Planet, as it happened, was a place where Valena had once invested her youthful dreams and romantic ideals…
After reuniting with the warrant officer, Eastern Engineering successfully reached a cooperation agreement with the tech giant Marianna. Valena and the first batch of Eastern Engineering trainees returned to Earth aboard Marianna's spaceship. She looked forward to reuniting with the warrant officer on Nox soon, embarking together on a journey to find the "Legacy" and travel to the unknown lands of Nox. However, 1 minute and 45 seconds after takeoff, Valena's spaceship exploded in mid-air.
