Personal History
Karula is a "holidaymaker" visiting Nox, hence her perpetually idle and unfocused demeanour. Though she serves as the employer for the Vanguard Squad, her days are occupied with fussing over her mercenary subordinates, constantly scheming to dress them in various role-play costumes.
Karula was once a shrewd and capable senior executive commanding a handsome salary. Her life before thirty was a mix of success and failure, a glittering degree, respectable income and a reputation beyond reproach. Yet her soul had been drained dry by work and study, leaving her without a lover or even close friends. Karula sought to fill the void with spending and products catering to her were plentiful, yet neither yoga, spiritual retreats, meditation, nor veganism and kombucha could heal her soul. A tantric master told her this was because she "could not honestly face her own heart". So what did her heart truly yearn for?
The anime world seemed to be the only thing Karula could truly call a hobby, yet for a high-level white-collar worker, this was an embarrassingly difficult thing to admit. What was even harder to voice was that she was also a fan of animal ears and lolis. Constrained by social pressure and relevant laws, she could only pursue her interests in secret, which only deepened her frustration. At this juncture, Karula indirectly learned (or rather, was reminded) of certain aspects concerning the planet Nox. For instance, its civilisation lagged behind Earth's, resulting in exceptionally low prices and its native inhabitants all possessed animal ears.
"The natives all have animal ears, which means there'll be plenty of beast-eared lolis, eh?" Karula's thoughts had never leapt so wildly. Karula decisively abandoned everything to pursue her passion wholeheartedly. Without a second thought, she hired the orphanage children who called themselves "veteran mercenaries", seemingly awakening a maternal instinct within herself she'd never known existed. Yet Karula's maternal instincts leaned excessively towards doting affection, rendering her utterly inept at practical care, her own life being rather haphazard, she often relied on the children to look after her. Still, when it came to spending money on them, she never hesitated. Were it not for the Vanguard Squad's children being remarkably precocious, they might well have been spoiled rotten by this eccentric auntie!
Personal Report
Karula is an employer at the Pioneer Service Group Group, a “vacationing tourist” from Earth. While she is usually carefree and unmotivated, once she gets serious, her resilience rivals that of a cockroach, fighting tenaciously to protect love, peace, anime, and adorable beast-eared loli characters.
Before coming to nox, Karula was a sharp and capable high-ranking white-collar worker with a high salary. By the age of thirty, her life was a mix of successes and failures—she had earned a dazzling degree, maintained a respectable income, and built an impeccable reputation. Yet, her spirit was drained by academic pursuits and work, leaving her with neither a lover nor close friends. Not even yoga, spiritual practices, vegetarian diets, or kombucha could heal her exhausted soul. A "master" once told her that her suffering stemmed from being unable to honestly confront her inner desires. Inner desires?
Karula's only passion was anime, but her peers considered this hobby both vulgar and unsavory. Worse yet, she was an avid fan of beast-eared and loli characters. Restricted by Vespucci's societal norms and legal constraints, she could only pursue her interests in secret, further deepening her frustration.
One day, while routinely browsing newspapers she subscribed to for appearances, she stumbled upon key information about the planet nox:
The cost of living there was incredibly low, and its native inhabitants all had beast-like ears.
—Doesn’t that mean there’ll be a lot of beast-eared loli characters?!
Eager to witness them firsthand, Karula abandoned everything on Earth at an astonishing speed and boarded a spaceship bound for nox. She shared a cabin with two passengers—an adorable loli and a gloomy young person. Sharing space with an unfamiliarperson in the vastness of space made Karula slightly uneasy. Little did she know how these two companions would shape the rest of her life…
